California requires an Alarm Company Operator (ACO) license from the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) to legally install, service, or monitor alarm systems. A contractor installing alarm systems also needs a California Contractors State License Board (CSLB) license with the appropriate classifications. Consumers can verify any alarm company's license status at the BSIS website (bsis.ca.gov) and the CSLB website (cslb.ca.gov). A-Bell Alarms holds ACO License #3875 and CSLB Contractor License #651728 with C-7 Low Voltage Systems and C-10 Electrical classifications. If a company cannot provide an ACO license number, they are not legally authorized to install or monitor alarm systems in California.

They also lack the commercial-grade features, customization, and professional maintenance that businesses need. A licensed alarm company installs, programs, and maintains your system to ensure it works correctly and meets local code and insurance requirements.
